Maxwells was established in 1968 and now with over 50 staff working from the Bridgwater office, is one of the largest Chartered Accountancy firms in Somerset.

"It's unwise to pay too much, but it's also unwise to pay too little. When you pay too much you lose a little money, that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing you bought it to do.

Firm's Identity
We are proud to be based in Bridgwater and although the majority of our clients are situated throughout the South West and South Wales, we do have clients all over the country. Due to the number of staff in the firm and the most up to date methods of transferring information, any distance from Bridgwater is no problem.

As Chartered Accountants, all we can offer is our service and this is dependent upon our staff at all levels. All personnel take great pride in their work and the services we as a firm provide. All staff are trained to a high level and are encouraged to undertake a wide variety of additional training as well as core accountancy training.

What We Do For Our Clients
Given the size of the practice and the experience of our staff, we are able to provide specialised advice for whatever the size or business of the clients. Both corporate and personal clients therefore have access to specialised services whilst maintaining a personal approach with partners within the firm. All of our clients have a named partner and manager who are responsible for their affairs. These are the main points of contact for the client and, in addition, many clients have a member of the tax staff allocated to them in order to deal with their tax affairs directly.

It has always been the firm's view that use of Maxwells should have an underlying result of adding value to our client's business or tax affairs. We also take pride in rapidly resolving any problems our clients may have in the increasingly complex business environment.

The independent financial adviser whom you will meet will be a qualified professional with many years experience in the financial services industry, who will want you to feel comfortable that you have fully understood the advice on offer and are confident that it offers real benefits for you or your business. We have retained the services of people with specialist expertise in their field, whether it be corporate or personal financial planning.
Maxwells Financial Management Limited is an Independent Financial Adviser, required by law to offer clients advice that is best for them, and to select financial products from the whole market.
Our service is usually provided in return for payment of a fee. Unless it is in your interest that we do so, we do not take the up front commissions that are on offer from many insurance companies and investment managers. This means that any investments you make, or any savings or pension plans that you arrange will get a significantly better start. For years, independent surveys have shown that endowment policies, pensions and investments would have paid out much healthier returns if they did not suffer from large up front commission deductions.
In most cases, the fee you pay us will be less, sometimes by a very large amount, than the commission which is re-invested into any investment or savings plan on your behalf. If it suits you better, we may be able to have our fee paid from a specifically reduced charge to the plan.

Our fees for the construction of advisory portfolios of collective investment (like ISAs and unit trusts) are very competitive.
