Past & Present was established in 1996 as a small locally owned and run second-hand furniture shop.
Over the course of 5 years of trading the business has gradually evolved and expanded over two floors and keeps a much broader selection of items, now including more individual pine and ethnic furniture, lamps, mirrors, prints and decorating items to suit any home. We also have gifts for all occasions.

A large amount of the Pine Furniture sold, is produced using timber that is reclaimed from buildings that have been demolished or renovated, this is then turned into some wonderful examples of traditionally constructed carved pieces. This gives a feeling of age, as the timber retains character from its previous use. Items range from a simple wall rack, tables, chairs, bookcases, dressers and much more.
As far a practical, all furniture is hand polished on the premises to allow customers a wide choice of colours. We also offer a colour matching service so that we can complement your existing furniture with a new piece in the same colour if required.

Ethnic Furniture tends to be of far eastern origins and influence, and tends to be more unusual in style. Slightly rustic in appearance, this furniture tends to be limited to darker shades, due to the timber used (normally sheesom, acacia or mango). However this does lend itself well to both traditional and modern furnishing schemes. Again, items range from a simple chest, through dining and living room furniture, bookcases and dressers.
Second Hand Furniture is still stocked, but is now more limited to high quality traditional items ranging from the Victorian era forward, even to present day if the quality is appropriate.

A wide range of high quality Mirrors are always available, and we always seek out one-off unusual examples when available.
An extensive range of more individual quality Prints are usually on display all of which are professionally mounted and framed.
We also have a wide selection of furnishing accessories that will grace any home including, but not limited to:- Tiffany Lighting, ceramic items, pottery, wrought iron, bronzes, hurricane lamps, decorative bird cages and much more.

We offer free delivery of bulky items within a 10 mile radius and accept all major credit cards and debit cards.
