'Howdenjones' duo

Kate Howden and Paul Jones have performed at Burnham in the past.  They are well known and popular in folk circles with their own songs, arrangements and stories.  The evening promises to be very entertaining and suitable for all ages.  Light refreshments teas, coffees, etc will be  available both before the performance and during the interval.  Doors open at 7.30 for 8.00 at the Balliol hall West Huntspill.  Tickets and more information from Monica Hall on 01278 783854.  Tickets are £6 and children under 16 are free.  The evening will be a fund raising event for refurbishment and redecoration  at the  Balliol Hall.  Click on our website for more information.

Green Fingers Compost Day!
Calling all gardeners! Come along to the Avalon Marshes Workbase, Shapwick Road, Westhay and buy our peat free soil conditioner - produced from the waste vegetation we remove from the reserve while managing it for birds and wildlife. Reduced price if you bring your own bags!
We will also be happy to meet up with you again in the autumn, when you are preparing for those winter vegetables and spring bulbs. So see you then!

Winter Wetland Safari
A walk to see the excellent selection of wildfowl and other wildlife that spends the winter months at Ham Wall. If we are lucky, we may see barn owls, marsh harriers and bitterns. Followed by soup, homemade cookies and hot drinks at Meare Manor (included in price). £6.50 per person. Booking essential.
