Half-Term Holiday Exhibition

Blake Museum

Bridgwater's Blake Museum.  If you are looking for something different to do this coming half term then why not pay a visit to the Bridgwater Blake Museum. The museum will be taking a break from its winter closure and will be open for the whole of the schools' spring half-term holiday from Monday 13th February to Saturday 18th February inclusive.  Volunteers have been working hard to put together new displays, especially in the Battle Room, from Alfred the Great to World War 2. With new display cases and room rearrangement, this has allowed even more artefacts to be put on display than ever before.

Bridgwater Town Guide - free smart phone application

Posted by
Bridgwater Town Council

Bridgwater Town Council, in partnership with Bridgwater Retail Initiative and TownGuideApps.com has released a ground breaking technology driven service to benefit visitors to the town and the people of Bridgwater.  We believe we are the first town in the Country to use the technology in this way.

The Bridgwater Town Guide is a free smart phone application that locals and visitors to the town can use to find shopping information, history guides and every day essential services.

Through the Town Guide, retailers and other businesses can also offer customers special offers and detailed information of the products and services on offer, boosting business and encouraging trade.  A huge amount of work has been done in the back ground to build the database in a limited time frame.  With input from businesses the content can be enriched and expanded, with a regular refresh of available data to consumers.

The Town Guide also contains detailed information and guides on the many unique historical features of the town, interactive searchable maps and A to Z guides all instantly available on a smart phone.   You can install “Bridgwater Town Guide” directly from the Apple App Store or the Android Market, or scan a barcode at Car Parks and other locations in the Town.  The App will be released on Blackberry and other popular phones in due course.  See Guide to Town Guide.

Bridgwater has a rich history and heritage with a well established business community, so please get involved and give us feedback.  Especially, in the light of recent events, support your town and spread the word, that Bridgwater is a great place to visit, work, rest and play .....
